It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's an A-bike!

A Sinclair A-bike to be exact. One of the smallest and lightest personal transport devices available today. Although I'd love to use this bike for daily travel, it's only built for short combined commutes, like a ride to the train or quick travel distances after jumping off the bus.

Pros: This baby is only 12 lbs and folds up into its own backpack. You could carry this bike on a plane and fit it in the overhead. Nice.

Cons: Holy cow is the seat uncomfortable! But, it can easily be changed and it will! I love this new fangled transportation gadget. More pics and info to come soon. In the meantime, check out www.a-bikecentral.com for more info. Oh yeah, and watch out for those asian counterfeit bikes - they're mass produced and all over the net.

Rebel without a pause

There's something in me that just loves cutting up ties. I think the repurposing of ties symbolizes a change of power, or overthrow of the status quo that just keeps me chopping them to pieces. But then again, crafting with ties is artsy, silky, shiney fun, and dare I say, "green"? So, you decide: tie crafting = sticking it to "the man" or helping man stick around?

Here's my latest Tie project. A tie skirt and tie appliqued top for my daughter.

Tie Quilt Blocks - in the making

Turn your old ties into works of art. Check out my slideshow - I removed it from the blog because it seemed to be slowing the page down. No worries, you can still watch it here.

I really haven't been as good as I should in keeping my blog updated. So much has happened - what you say? Well for one, I've re-discovered sewing. This time its for real! Yeah, I know, you've probably heard that before but I mean it. This time its gonna last. I've been making all sorts of things, mainly quilting. Its kinda my new addiction. No, I haven't forgotten my CSM... that's still my true love. But its pretty darn hot out here now and I'd rather not handle wool fibers. Sew - in the meantime, I sew :)

Here's a gift for you, check it out: http://metaatem.net/words/
