A New CSM! This time its twisted!

I'm VERY psyched about my new CSM. Its a 1929 Swedish CSM called, "Favorit". Not only is it my very first non-North American CSM (I've had Canadian and American so far), but its also my first non-traditional functioning CSM. This CSM is twisted, in that it knits inside out! Knitting happens at the top and spills down over the center tube. No weights needed when knitting, only during the cast on stage. Oh yeah, and there's no ribber. It shortrows for heels and toes just like a cylinder CSM. I've enlisted Caprifool's help in translating the manual and patterns. Time to brush up on my Swedish perhaps?

A Cryptic Post

*Update* Now that my PIFs have their gifts I can stop being so cryptic. I received a very sweet response from my PIF Kyle, on his blog:
Just posting to say thanks for the lovely card, "you know who." I'm so glad you enjoyed your pillow and that it reminds you of family. It was made from recycled neckties on my 1935 Singer Featherweight (221) sewing machine and there isn't another pillow like it in the whole wide world :)
Be sure to tell your guests about it as they enjoy all the rich treasures sure to be found in your guest room ;-) Here's the pic I took after finishing it.
In joy,
V.

Need a quick baby gift?

Need a quick baby gift? Break out them needles for a couple hours.
Spring brings much more than flowers. It seems to bring babies too. At least two of my friends and friends' family members have just given birth. One couple gave birth to triplets ( a set of twin girls and a boy), another a little girl. Since my CSM cylinders are 54 and 72, kind of big for newborn booties, I decided to do some hand knitting. I almost forgot how much I truly enjoy it. Using a quick and easy pattern from Ooo Baby Knits, with cones of Peaches and Cream 10 ply 100% cotton yarn in baby pastel colors.
I've knitted 3 pair of booties so far for the triplets, now I'm working on something for the little girl. Hmmm maybe a sweater...
